Privacy Policy
Last updated: October 9, 2026
This Privacy Policy explains how LadyRide ("LadyRide", "we", "us") collects, uses, shares, keeps and protects information when you use the LadyRide mobile app as a passenger or rider, the LadyRide website at ladyride.pk, and LadyRide support channels. LadyRide is a ride-hailing service for women in Pakistan.
1. Who We Are
The LadyRide app and website are operated by LadyRide. For any privacy question or request, contact us at support@ladyride.com or through the Contact Us page at ladyride.pk/contact.
2. Information We Collect
We collect the following information, depending on whether you are a passenger or a rider:
- Account information: full name, email address, phone number, account role (passenger or rider), account status and profile details. If you sign in with Google or Apple, we receive your account identifier, name and email address from that provider. Passwords are handled by Firebase Authentication; we do not store them in our database.
- Gender and eligibility: LadyRide is for women. During sign-up we ask for your gender and a photo of your identity card (CNIC or equivalent). The text on the photo is read automatically (optical character recognition) to check the gender shown on it. We store the photo, the result and your verification status, and our administrators may review the photo.
- Emergency contacts: the names, phone numbers and relationships of emergency contacts you choose to add.
- Saved places (passengers): addresses you save, such as home or work, with their map coordinates.
- Rider verification: CNIC number, date of birth, CNIC expiry date, city, a selfie, photos of the front and back of your CNIC, your driving licence, your bike registration document and your bike, the bike model and registration number, automatically extracted document text, and our review decisions and notes.
- Location information: see section 4.
- Ride information: pickup and drop-off addresses and coordinates, ride type, ride status and timestamps (requested, accepted, arrived, started, completed or cancelled), the assigned rider, estimated and actual distance, fare and its components, cancellations (who cancelled and the reason), and ratings and reviews that passengers and riders give each other.
- Payment and earnings information: the payment method recorded for each ride (currently cash), fares, LadyRide commission, rider earnings, rider wallet balance and commission due, and the payout method and frequency a rider selects, together with payout records. We do not collect card or bank account numbers in the app.
- Safety and support information: SOS alerts (who triggered them, the related ride and your location at that moment), complaints, support requests, contact form messages, and data or account deletion requests.
- Device and technical information: the push-notification token of your device, the app version and platform (for example when you respond to the rider location notice), and crash, diagnostic and app-usage data collected by Firebase services included in the app.
3. How We Use Information
- To create and secure accounts and to sign you in.
- To check that LadyRide accounts belong to women, and to verify that riders are eligible to drive.
- To match ride requests with nearby riders, show routes and arrival times, run trips, and keep ride history.
- To calculate fares, the distance travelled, commissions, rider earnings and payouts.
- To support safety: live trip tracking, SOS alerts, incident review and complaints.
- To send notifications about rides, account status, verification and support.
- To provide support, respond to requests, and prevent fraud, misuse and unauthorized access.
- To fix crashes and keep the app working.
- To meet legal, tax, regulatory and dispute-resolution obligations.
We do not sell personal information, and we do not use it for advertising.
4. Location Information
LadyRide only asks for location access while the app is in use ("While using the app" on Android, "When In Use" on iOS). It never asks for "Allow all the time" access. You can change or revoke location access at any time in your device settings.
- Passengers: your precise or approximate location is used while the app is open to find your pickup point, show nearby riders and attach your position to an SOS alert. It is not collected while the app is in the background. You can type a pickup address instead of sharing your location.
- Riders: before you go online, LadyRide shows a location notice and asks for your consent. While you are online or on a trip, LadyRide collects your location even when the app is closed or not in use. Android shows an ongoing notification and iOS shows the location indicator while this happens. Collection stops when you go offline or log out; during an active trip it continues until the trip is completed or cancelled.
- Who can see a rider's location: while a rider is online, passengers looking for a ride can see the rider's name and position on the map, and the position is used to match ride requests. During a trip, the assigned passenger sees the rider's live position. Authorized LadyRide administrators can see it for ride coordination and safety.
- Trip location points, recorded about every 10 seconds during a trip, are kept with the ride record. They are used to calculate the distance travelled and for safety and dispute review, and only the ride's passenger and rider and authorized administrators can read them. A rider's latest position is overwritten as she moves.
6. How Long We Keep Information
We keep account, verification, ride, payment and safety records while your account is active and for as long as needed afterwards to resolve disputes, investigate safety incidents, prevent fraud, and meet legal, tax and accounting obligations. A rider's latest location is overwritten as she moves; trip location points are kept with the ride record.
When an account is deleted, we delete or anonymize personal information that we no longer need. Records we are legally required to keep, or that are needed for an open safety, fraud or payment matter, such as completed ride and payment records, may be kept for those purposes.
7. Your Choices and Deletion Requests
- Update your profile, emergency contacts and saved places in the app.
- Turn location access and notifications on or off in your device settings. Riders can go offline at any time when no trip is active.
- Request deletion of your data at ladyride.pk/delete-data, or deletion of your whole account at ladyride.pk/delete-account. Passengers can also open these pages from Settings in the app, and anyone can email support@ladyride.com. When you request account deletion, your account is deactivated straight away, and our team reviews and processes the request within 30 days. Active rides must be completed or cancelled first, and riders must settle pending payouts or disputes.
- Ask us for a copy of your information, or ask us to correct it, by contacting us.
8. Security
Information is encrypted in transit and is stored on Google Cloud, which encrypts it at rest. Access is limited by sign-in and by database security rules based on each person's role and rides. No system is completely secure, so please protect your login details and report suspicious activity to us.
9. Changes to This Policy
We will update this page when our practices change and revise the "Last updated" date. If a change materially expands how we collect or share location information, riders will see the updated location notice in the app before the new collection starts.
10. Contact Us
For privacy questions or requests, email support@ladyride.com or use the Contact Us page at ladyride.pk/contact.
